Do you play the MP3's back at 16-bit stereo with 128kbit encoding?

Ever learning...

Hi!

>An LX is not capable of playing back MP3s effectively.

So what am i doing all the time with my LX playing mp3's???
I use Solaris 2.6 on my LX and mpg123-0.59m to play the mp3's.
Works great. The machine needs about 80% CPU to decode the
mp3 streams, but if i renice the job (or put it into the
realtime schedule) i can even do something else with the
machine.

Under SunOS 4.1.4, the audio dma buffer is not used. But
i can still play the mp3's in mono.

Tschuess
