Membership in DECUS is free, actually, though you can contribute more if
you want to. 

One caveat to the OpenVMS license is that only certain Alpha models are
supported (and this doesn't include the very common ones on the used
market, the Multia and the PCI64 "Noname" board).  If anyone has a pointer
to an Alpha/OpenVMS compatability matrix it would be a tremendous help,
even after working with these systems for several years I do not have a
complete list.
