The word 'invent' is not an abstract legal term...

Kids are taught about a multitude of inventors - Bell, Edison, Ford, Wozniack,
Musk, just to name a few in the tech arena - this is basic stuff.

The criterion for being an invention being applied here is 'did more than
remove case'.
