[geeks] MacBook5,1 problems

(1) Before you buy upgrades, verify that your MacBook will run the upgrades.

(2) What browser are you using.  I suffered a similar problems with
Firefox.  I tried Chrome browser and Safari.  Neither had the problem.
Something had "hijacked" my browser but I don't remember what it was or
what I did to correct the problem.  Since many malware kind of hangs out
for a target, this may have happened to you.

With my issues, I checked everything and the problem was limited to my
computer & browser. It was an easy fix as I recall.  Either deleting the
configuration file for Firefox or upgrading to a newer version.
