[geeks] Ultra5 not playing nice with a quad-port ethernet card

Greetings all;

I've been working on getting the SSP to my E10k working. At first I
thought I had a memory issue but it turns out, to my surprise, that the U5
doesn't appear to like its 501-5406 quad-port ethernet card.

With the card in, on power-on the first thing I get is "Data access error"
and I get dumped into OBP. A 'boot disk' will give me a "Memory Address
not Aligned" error and back into OBP. Removal of the card gives me a
standard POST with boot from disk.

I tried this quad card in my second ("new") U5 with the same error.

I dug around and found a second, much earlier revision, of 501-5406 card
in an E450. To my amazement this card also gives the same error in both
U5s.

Now I'm thoroughly confused. I know this card came with this U5 and I'm
under the impression it is, in this setup, needed for the U5 to operate as
an SSP.

Am I daft? Or is something rather odd going on here?

 - JP
