In the Finder, Cmd-K (or Go -> Connect To Server).

Give it a URL like smb://myServer/ and click Connect.  You'll be prompted
to authenticate.  If you click the "+" before you click Connect, the URL
will be put in your "Favorite Servers" list.

Bonus: You can also give it URLs like vnc://myServer:5901.
