The USA government schools even teach that the form of government with
which we were established is a democracy!  They also teach that the War
of Northern Aggression was solely about liberating black slaves.  One of
my teachers even went so far as to say that slavery was 'born' in the
United States.

School funded by and controlled by the national government encounter a
conflict of interest whenever presented with the opportunity to teach a
meaningful lesson that governments are composed of people and tend to
express the personality flaws common in those who would aspire to lead
governments.  Among these would be aggression, avarice, deception,
fleeting loyalty, and an inability to see the result of one's actions
from a distance.  Rare is the case that the school manages to present
this lesson, except as a means to draw caricatures of nations with whom
our government does not share favorable relations.
