Not even slightly.  I guess my sarcastic tone didn't come across so  
well in email :)

It's robbery, plain and simple.  Charging me 20 shekels interest on a  
one-day 46 shekel "loan" that they paid to customs to pre-release my  
package?  30 shekels  as a "handling fee" to pay that customs charge?   
60 shekels for the service of passing it by the customs agent for him  
to assess the 46 shekels?

That would be blatantly illegal under any government I'd consider  
rational.  But Israel is a socialist country, no matter what the talk  
of democracy, and the government protects the collective over the  
individual in every case.  Even so, there's no other place on Earth  
I'd rather live.
