When Vista SP1 starts becoming the common distribution of Vista I  
think this may all begin to become a moot point, as it supports EFI  
and thus unblocks the way forward for PC makers to start adopting EFI.  
Apple have demonstrated it's not hard to make EFI backwards  
compatible, also.

At the very least, if newer cards support EFI and x86 then the ROM  
will at least be the right size!
