Having made 3 million ISK in 2 hours doing that, I can't really agree
with you there.

It depends on the missions. I've run missions where I was jumped by
Amarr destroyers even in 1.0 space, and they have a ton of expensive
equipment on them.

Or go out and look for trouble in 0.5-0.7 space. The NPC pirates
there drop high level loot, and there are ways to create nearly
infinite spawns by tricking them into calling in several waves until
you have a lot of targets with bounties.

In 0.8 space, while it will be a turkey shoot, the payoff is not worth
it.

I tried mining, but here's how it worked out:

Mining for 3 hours: 250 thousand ISK
Killing things for 3 hours: 2.5 million ISK

I have figured out a few ways to make more mining, but I need a
partner to make it efficient, and a much larger ship, plus some skills
that I don't have.

I have also thought of salvaging on the war front. Minmatar and Amarr
are fighting heavily and the battles leave tons of wrecks. Since some
of the battles are occuring in 1.0 security systems, they should be
relatively safe between battles.

The only thing here is I again need a larger ship, and I also need to
find some salvaging units. I can't find salvage units or any ship
rigs anywhere.

True.

There is a lot of debate about what would happen if a corporation were
formed to get really serious about killing them and keeping them dead.

For one thing, I personally think you'd have to be very careful or you
could end up killing innocents who just appeared to be macro mining.

The other issue is that macro mining does appear to keep the cost of
equipment down.

I would prefer they were not there, but I'm not sure if the cost of
mounting a major offensive against them would be worth it, or even
possible.

Also, I suspect coming events in the war are going to change things as
we now know it.

I name each of mine and I want to paint them dammit!

I've not found any way to have someone pick up materials from my
station areas.

I've gotten pretty good at it, I just think it needs a few tweaks.

I think you should be able to hire NPC haulers and things too, simply
because mining is so mind numbingly boring, at least it is to me.

I guess the answer there is to form a corporation and split the work up.

Idea: Form Blackwater Corporation, and do mercenary work. Should be
nearly constant work in the world of EVE... :)

Oh, and it will be interesting to watch how the gradually escalating
war affects the economy, piracy, and militia actions.
