The same could be said of nearly any profession.  There are computer
repair folk that bilk people out of their money and harvest interesting
bits of their computer when it's in the shop.  There are automobile
mechanics that replace huge piles of components unnecessarily.  There
are electricians that do a just-good-enough job that the house doesn't
burn down that month.

The world is just ate up with assholes.  Sometimes, though, the odds
favor relying on someone else to do the things you don't have the time
to properly understand.
