Done most of the hydrocodone/oxycodone/morphine derivatives and
analogues. Hydrocodone still works a little bit. Tramadol barely
works. None of the OTC stuff works at all any more. The trouble with
medication is anything strong enough to completely control the pain is
strong enough that I can't think straight while I'm on it.

We tried a nerve block, and it worked well for about a week - the first
four days were completely pain-free - so then we tried nerve ablation,
essentially a semi-permanent nerve block that should last 6-8 months,
but my nervous system had learned from the nerve block and re-routed
around it in four days. My pain specialist wants to implant a spinal
stimulator, which is pretty much the last resort, but our insurance
won't pay for it.
