I think there is a much larger collection of "newbie" documentation available on the web now vs. several years ago - Sun has made a very serious push to get a lot of How-to articles out in the world. I also think the ability to google the Sunhelp mail lists (and it's many mirrors) should cut down on direct appeals made out of frustration... Weh ave posted a lot of articles with specific error messages and described solutions clearly.
