Which is not what I suppose to happen. It's just a counter allright, but the counter AFAIK is not stored anywhere in the printer and reset when changing the kit, it is in an E(E)PROM aboard the kit and will be reset when the kit is reworked in the factory (if they do that at all). ISTR people selling preprogrammed replacement chips on e**y to get some more life out of an old transfer kit.
