Any particular apps?  I've definitely run a few Java apps under VMware
w/o any noticeable issue, although none were being hit particularly
hard that I can recall.  Where was the bottleneck?

I've unfortunately not gotten around yet to working with Asterisk.  I
guess this gives more impetus for setting up a test box and doing it
as a VM...
