Everything since the F15 has been fly-by-wire, afaik. I'm not sure if
either of the F15, F16 or F18 has a mechanical backup system. I know
the misnamed F117 (which should properly be called the A117) is not only
uncontrollable, but unflyable if the onboard flight control computers go
down.
