One thing to pay close attention to is that units such as the SuperMicro
one lack the grooves that would allow it to be installed in most PC cases,
where it's common that the 5.25" bays have bits of the frame punched out
and bent to help guide 5.25" devices into their appropriate spot. It's
unusual to find a case that doesn't have such little metal guides between
5.25" bays, and in some cases each bay is completely seperated by a steel
divider. It all depends on the case. Sometimes you will be able to
manually bend the metal guides flat to the sides, however that could be
difficult to do, again depending on the case. Many SuperMicro cases are
of course designed for SuperMicro devices such as the CSE-M35S so their
cases don't need modification.
