I don't recall if this was for the geeks or the resuce list, but it is

32 serial ports and the ability to switch between any of them via 
software control; plus, it will determine if a regular or null-modem 
connection is needed and switch to that configuration as needed.

Includes FORTH source code.

ISTR someone on one of the lists asking about hooking up a bunch of 
serial devices and the challenge of figuring out the pinouts....
