I'm a big fan of tetrachloroethylene (dry cleaning fluid) - it's a good 
degreaser, evaporates at a reasonable rate, and is still easy to get in 
any auto parts store.  Isopropanol will work but don't rub the glass too 
hard if it's coated, it's easy to take the coating off in spots.

Am I the only one who's used electrical contact cleaner to spot dry-clean 
clothes in a pinch?  It works well on cloth car headliners, too, where you 
have to be careful of the glue and backing.  Just let things air out well 
afterwards.
