Well, actually that's not true.

Even if your eye cannot detect an individual pixel or color change, it
will still have an effect on what you perceive, most often for the
better.

It's like sound systems that can produce over 20KHz: you can't directly
hear it, but you do hear the effects of it.

Likewise we can make video displays with more colors than a human can
specifically see, but it still helps because, again, we *ARE* affected
by what we cannot directly see.
