"Over this next year most LCD monitor manufacturers are replacing the
flourescent tube back lighting with white LEDs.  Their expected life is
roughly 100 years."

I saw the above on another list... is this the case?  Supposedly on
average the fluorescent tube in an LCD monitor lasts about 6 years.
