Yes, I've used a pair of the predecessor:

Mostly the same, it just has a box with a power cable instead of a wall
wart. It worked great for me as we were in a rental and couldn't be
pulling extra lines through the house. I had the cable modem on the first
floor in the corner with a powerline bridge, and its pair in the computer
room on the second floor plugged into my firewall. Worked great for a year
and a half and then we moved, so they're in a box somewhere still.

Can't really comment on the speed at all, because the bottleneck was the
cable modem.

Only problem I had -- and it may be model specific -- is that my Motorola
surfboard cable modem couldn't autonegotiate with it, so I had a dinky
little hub between the two.
