Not really, far too complicated and expensive. Plus,
range would not be enough. Eventually I do hope to
loft a microcontroller, but it would be a board of my
own design using an Atmel uC. My best bet right now
seems to be a $40/pair radio that Spark Fun sells
which will do ~700ft.
