Anyone else remember the days when being a computer hobbyist basically
meant you *were* an electronics hobbyist also?

My first computer was various bits of SWTPc SS-50 stuff, with a few
boards from a manufacturer my friend was involved with. I have fond
memories of putting that stuff together. And then finally having enough
RAM, and getting my hands on a 360k floppy drive, so I could run FLEX -
wow!

The first *real* program I ever wrote was a VT-something terminal
emulator so I could run Emacs on the DEC-20 at school.
