I just got a great book - "Digital Retro", by Gordon Lang.

It details 40 computers from the MITs Altair 8800 -> Next Cube (1975 - 1989), including a neat little Forth-based PC called the Jupiter ACE, from 1982 (it looks like a Sinclair ZX81 in a tan case)...

A great present for any Geek on your holiday list, about $18 at Amazon (it has great full-color pictures on each page, think of this as a Geek Coffee Table book):
