I've been known to heavily modify the engine, transmission, or suspension of
a truck or car, but never the outward appearance - at least not any large
degree.  I see tons of pimped up Hondas and Toyotas that can't get out of
their own way.  I don't understand.  "See, look at my car!  It's shiny and
has lights on it!  It's got a giant wing, and a full skirt-spoiler package! 
The stereo is a 1000W system!  I have strobelights on the dash!  The engine
has 80,000 miles on it and is tired and beat down!"  Perspective, perhaps.
