Ah ha! Same with me. I wish you good luck with the diphenhydramine
hydrochloride. Watch out that you don't get any caffiene in the ones
you try the first time.

I see from a quick search it's also what's in Benadryl (which I believe
is the most expensive way to purchase it), and is known as a sedative as
well:

	http://www.nursespdr.com/members/database/ndrhtml/diphenhydraminehydrochloride.html

	http://www.gloryroad.net/~emt/drugs/diphen.html

and so on and on and on and on....

(one study I saw of pregnant rats suggest the contraindication for
pregnancy may be nonsense too, though I can attest to the fact it does
make alcohol a bit more "interesting", or as they say it "potentiates"
the effects....)

Note that the same drug is sometimes given to dogs to calm them down,
so indeed it does have what might be "adverse" affects on some critters.

It just doesn't seem to make me drowsy, at least not in the normal low
25mg doses when I usually take one in the morning and one at night
before bed. Maybe that's because it really does help me get a better
night's sleep and I'm alert enough the next day to fight off any
unwanted side effects of the morning dose.
