Well yes, it's clearly an error, but not of the "typo" variety.
More of the "haven't a clue on the subject" variety.

Another article I saw on the same supercomputer refered to the
POWER5 chips as "cheap off the shelf parts". Again, confusing
them with their PowerPC relatives.
