I was pretty impressed myself.  Another benchmark I ran placed the
Octane completely on par with the laptop when running the
distributedfolding.com client.  When running Seti, the laptop was only
about 10% faster.

I never pass up an opportunity to do a complete and clean reinstall (but
never undertake the task gratuitously).  I'd like to get a R12k
processor for my Octane sometime soon, which will necessitate a complete
and clean reinstall onto larger disks - but I'm currently in severe
"scrimp-n-save" mode.  I'm trying to pay off my truck inside this year,
so that I can order a 2003 Ram 2500 with a diesel  - the truck I should
have bought to begin with.
