This was an unacceptable solution as 'the majority of the computer
networks and workstations are Windows machines and you will have no
need for alternatives as Windows does everything in a network from
user management to access control'. Direct quote. When I asked why
there was so little Unix/Linux I was told that if I could show him
any workplace that used only Linux, in the city, he would triple the
time we were planned to spend on it. I then told him I would remain
in class if he could show me any workplace that had a decent network
that didn't use any Unix based OSes. A month later after he admitted
he could not, I dropped out, simply because he was still unwilling to
expend the Unix in class.
