  As I understand it, one thing the busybody gubmit morons are afraid
of is fire "creeping" along cables and spreading from room to
room...not just wire overheating from too much current.

  Of course, in reality this hasn't been a problem for cables made
within the past, what, twenty years or so...but that's our government
for you.
