That *may* be it - the one I remember (hardback) had a tan/beige cover
with a picture of a guy on it.. very "professional" looking.  

The cover photos I can find on the web via Google show a guy in fatigues and 
a reddish cover; that may be the second edition.  The chapter list sounds
familiar.
