XP isnt bad if you turn off that god-awful "new look" interface and go back
to "classic windows", as well as turn off a lot of the eye candy and the 
"system recovery" crap.  Also, turn off the QoS packet scheduler in your
network connection, and recover 20% of your bandwidth.
