[geeks] home equipment inventories

Actually, I find restoring a piece of furniture can be tedious. I prefer to
make it from scratch. That way I get my choice of wood, finish and style. I
did not, however, try to make my dining room furniture, as the wife refused
to wait that long.

This current is project, a media center that can fit a 32 inch TV. I'm
thinking maple with a redish oak stain and a satin oil based polyurethane
finish. Perhaps mortised panel doors with the panels made from tongue and
groove bead board. I found a source for the retracting "barn door" hardware
that hides the TV. Next, bookcases for each side of the center (books are
media too!). Of course, living in the Shaker Valley, all my home furniture
is in the Shaker style. Super simple to build.
