This is a far cry from: "pismos have a real bad habit".  I'd be willing 
to bet that a supplier was building units a bit out of spec.  Having 
seen Sun suffer through supplier-related problems, I would imagine all 
computer manufactures have 'em.

If you looked around, you would probably find that many laptop 
manufacturers have seen  similar isolated (or small group) of issues.  I 
remember similar things w/Sager (big OEM) laptops in the 486 days...
