It's not really a derivative -- at least no more so than smalltalk-80
was a derivative of smalltalk-77.  Squeak _IS_ smalltalk (-80 for most
intents and purposes), and is maintained by the original creators no
less.  :-)

As the programming language comparison that was posted the other day
said, you spend three months playing with smalltalk, and then your boss
shoots you!  ;-)
