I think there's really on one viable modern free RADIUS implementation
currently available:

1.6.5 works great.

As for MySQL, well it sucks dead dogs in a gut wagon, but there is PAM
support for Cistron, and if you've got a PAM module that does SQL
queries you're laughing (and so are all the people who want to crack
your PAM crap!) :-/

Hmm.... yeah there's even an unofficial patch for MySQL support in the
patches directory.....
