[geeks] Transferring Video to DVD

Cheapest/quickest: new iMac with superdrive, using iDVD software. About
$1800.

More professional/more expensive: G4 with superdrive using DVD studio
Pro.

Get a Mac, get a superdrive. From there, I like the Formac Studio to
get the video in the system, Firewire in/out, composite and S-video
in/out and a TV tuner, about $400 iirc.

iMovie should be fine for getting video in the system.

iDVD is free with any computer with a superdrive, and is very easy/fast
to use, but will limits your choices for compression, as it will only
encode at around 5mb/s, though that may not be a problem. DVD studio
pro is a professional program, and gives you complete control over the
DVD making process. It does take a lot more work to make a disk
though. and it costs about $1000.
