[geeks] Serial to ethernet?

Does anyone here know where I can find instructions/ideas/inspiration 
for building a DB9/serial to RJ45/ethernet converter?
What I'd like to build is something like the Portsmith MobileDox Net
( http://www.portsmith.com/pspda.shtml , bottom of the page), but I 
really don't want to pay $170 for something that'll probably be obsolete 
when I replace my Palm Vx with a new pda.

It would be really nice to be able to download mail, webpages and news 
to the Palm in the morning without having to boot my Sparc IPX first.
