Odd. Okay, your server doesn't behave as I guessed it did. What is the
server you are connecting to? Its output? Are you certain it spits out
lines until the client disconnects, each line terminated with a carriage
return (or some CR/LF combination)?

Sadly, this is more interesting than what I'm doing at work :)
