Like most of the countries in *Western* Europe at one time or another ? In
Europe, relatively few people start foaming at the mouth when they hear the
word "socialist" and from time to time socialist governments get elected. And
yes, they get booted out from time to time.

But they leave things behind ... like (in the UK) universal free education,
universal free health care, a public-sector broadcaster that's widely
considered to be quite good (the BBC).
