I haven't followed this thread too closely, but if your UPS is doing nothing
at all, you might want to temporarily rig some car batteries (cheap,
borrowed, etc) using jumper cables to see if the UPS comes back to life
before you invest in batts. Just add batteries in series until you match the
voltage of the batpack.
