Lessee.  Original hard drive was a 1.2gig SCSI.  I had no other SCSI
drives.  I had this PCI card that let me hook up an IDE drive to it
and make it appear to the system as a SCSI drive.  I had a spare 20G
IDE drive, which is *faster* than the original SCSI drive.

Not much of a decision-making process, there.
