AGP helps free up the bus for more usefull things, like SCSI and FDDI
transfers.  So, you still benifit.  Unless you never press the PCI bus
that is.

Well, that helps.  But then, you have a new set of problems.  Like, what
if Irix has a bug in it.  Or what if you don't care for MIPSPro.  Or, you
don't have the money for MIPSPro.

It just would be nice to be able to get good hardware for non AGP
systems so that one can get decent video while still maintaining control
over where they go in computing.  After all, doesn't everyone need GeForce
level graphics in that 68k ATX Atari clone board?
