I recently switched from a 1024 x 768 colour NCD x-terminal
to a 1280x1024 mono NCD x-terminal. Mono tubes are *so*
much easier on the eyes! I only use the colour terminal when
I'm using my camera. I gotta get one of these for work...

Modifying vmstat would be a good solution. Harder to
port/maintain than the alternatives, but much more efficient.
Compiling for efficiency is a good things at times.

This brings up another pet peeve though: "ls" and "ps" should have
format string options like "date" instead of the ludicrous list
of options. Dammit.
