Does any one here know about IBM, the US Govt, ASCII
and EBCDIC? ALl IBM mainframes use EBCDIC, US Govt
want all machines they purchase to be ASCII.

IBM would not change to ASCII.

The US Govt, wanted IBM mainframes.

The US Govt. backed down...

IBM won. Again!
