When I had ISDN, I lost my line *every time* a neighbor got a second (or
third) line!

My neighborhood is sort-of old (30+ yrs. old), and Verizon was *very*
reluctant to invest in new copper pairs...

Shortly before I got DSL, they finally ran some more copper in my
neighborhood...
