How much graphics performance boost comes from the new CPUs? It's my
understanding that most things are done in software, except the ICE chip
(mjpeg and yuv conversion I believe), so I would imagine it would be
considerable.

Also, no mention of higher resolutions, refresh rates, or any real changes
except a new r7k chip and a faster r12k version (the r12k was already
available as an upgrade).

Plus the price for base models is even higher now than when the machines
first came out. Come on guys, it's time for a cheap SGI. Sun and compaq
will sell us really cheap machines, and even IBM and HP have some decently
priced models.
