Try $1.5k to $3k unless you are going to insist on an R10k Infinite
Reality machine.  Quad r4.4k machines with RE2 graphics I've seen for as
low as $1500.

Be sure to have cash for parts.  The machine my school has has blown
several power supplies (there is a problem with the PS design), among
other things, and this is a machine on a dedicated (and really large) UPS.
