FROM: https://archive.org/details/sony-das-original This is a collection of various versions of the software component of Sony's Digital Alignment System. These are predominantly MS-DOS programs which are used to align and adjust Sony-branded and Sony-OEM CRT monitors from the 1990's. ServiceBulletin.pdf lists the relevant models of Sony Monitors and the versions of the DAS software that are used to service them. All of these programs require at least an RS232 to TTL async serial converter or cable. Some may require an additional I2C cable to connect to certain monitor models. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. These programs, used incorrectly, can damage your monitor beyond repair. With proper care, they can also restore aging or problem monitors to useful service. This upload contains two archives. SonyDAS.zip contains the original distribution files originally fetched from the repository at ablserv.com. The subdirectories contain installers for each version, which must be run under DOS or a COMMAND.COM window to prepare a directory on your hard drive with the executable and support files for that version. These installers malfunction under DOSBox; they report success but the installation does not operate properly. The installers do operate properly in DOS and Windows virtual guest machines. DASX.zip contains all of the versions from the SonyDAS.zip, in their installed form and with the checks for security dongles (which are long since unavailable) disabled. The subdirectories of this archive contain the installed program and support files. The appropriate directory can be extracted and the DASX.exe program run directly from the extracted directory.
